Who is responsible
Fleet CAR Rental Limited is responsible for personal information handled in connection with this publication. Our address is 255 Ealing Road, Wembley, HA0 1ET. You can contact us at [email protected] or +44 20 8993 7751. Our authorised representative is Rupert Ashcombe.
This policy concerns your use of ramblar.com and correspondence with us. Starr Luxury Cars and any rental provider are separate organisations responsible for their own booking services and handling of personal information. Review their privacy notices before providing documents or making a booking.
Information we handle
When you contact us, we may receive your name, contact details, message and any information you choose to include. Please provide only what is needed for your enquiry. Do not send payment-card details, driving-licence scans or other rental identification to this publication.
Ordinary website access may generate technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access. We also record your cookie preference. Rental planning tabs do not require you to provide personal details.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use correspondence to answer enquiries, handle publication-related complaints and keep an appropriate record of the response. Where appropriate, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating the publication, communicating with readers and maintaining security, after considering the effect on individuals.
Where processing is required by a legal obligation, that obligation is the applicable basis. Consent is used for optional processing where required. We do not treat an enquiry as consent to unrelated direct marketing, and we do not use your correspondence to make automated decisions about rental eligibility.
Cookies and your choices
A necessary consent-preference cookie remembers the choice you make in the cookie notice for up to 180 days. You can reopen the notice using the persistent Cookies button. See the cookie policy for the name, purpose and duration of the cookie.
These pages do not currently place analytics or advertising tracking cookies. If optional technologies are introduced, the notice and policy must describe them and provide the relevant choice before they operate where consent is required. Your choice here does not control cookies on an external provider’s website.
Sharing and external services
Service providers involved in website delivery, security or business correspondence may handle information as necessary for those services, under appropriate arrangements. We may also disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information received through reader correspondence.
Selecting View available cars takes you to Starr Luxury Cars. We do not send your correspondence or rental identification to that service through the button. The destination may receive ordinary access information from your visit and will apply its own privacy and cookie arrangements.
Retention and security
We retain correspondence only for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, resolve a complaint or meet an applicable legal requirement. The appropriate period depends on the subject of the correspondence and any ongoing dispute. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or otherwise removed from active use.
Access is restricted to people who need information for the relevant purpose. We take proportionate steps to protect it from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No communication method offers absolute security; contact us promptly if you believe information connected with this publication has been compromised.
Your rights and requests
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your information, and object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Some rights are subject to statutory conditions and exceptions.
Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to any lawful extension or other applicable rule, and explain any limitation on what we can provide.
Complaints, transfers and changes
Please contact us first if you have a concern about our handling of information. We acknowledge data-protection complaints within 30 days and seek to respond without undue delay. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk; contacting us does not remove that right.
If a service involves an international transfer, applicable UK safeguards or another permitted transfer mechanism must be used. Material changes to our handling of information will be reflected in this policy. The update date below identifies the current version.
