The publication and its operator
Portico Motor Journal is operated by Fleet CAR Rental Limited, 255 Ealing Road, Wembley, HA0 1ET. VAT ID: GB 502661716. The authorised representative is Rupert Ashcombe. Contact details are [email protected] and +44 20 8993 7751.
These terms govern use of this publication. They do not form a car-rental agreement, insurance contract or confirmed reservation. Any hire agreement is subject to the terms supplied by Starr Luxury Cars or the rental provider responsible for the booking.
Advertising feature and reconstruction
The car-rental story is an advertising feature. The hotel handover is a reconstructed advertising scene, and the people, location and vehicle shown are fictitious. Dialogue-like headings and descriptions refer to that scene and are not customer testimonials or reports of a real event.
The customer in the scene rents the vehicle for a few days. Nothing in the story states that he owns it. Images illustrate the handover process and do not promise the pictured model, specification, location or collection arrangement for a reader’s booking.
Separate service providers
Starr Luxury Cars is presented as a separate provider of rental and booking services. Its catalogue, booking process and customer communications are governed by its own terms and privacy information, or by those of the relevant rental provider.
Fleet CAR Rental Limited does not take a booking or payment through this publication. Questions about a quote, car, collection, cancellation, insurance or an existing hire must be addressed to the organisation responsible for that booking. No affiliation or agency relationship is implied beyond the advertising feature described here.
Availability and booking information
Catalogue options may change. A displayed vehicle or an enquiry does not guarantee availability, and this publication does not quote a rental price. Confirm the actual car, specification, city, dates, collection and return details with the service provider before paying or making travel arrangements.
The provider must supply the applicable price, payment arrangements, cancellation and amendment terms, and any additional charges. Read the proposed agreement carefully and retain the documents and confirmation supplied for your hire.
Driver eligibility and rental conditions
Adult drivers must still meet the applicable age, licence-holding period, driving-record and documentation requirements. Additional drivers need the required approval. Requirements may differ according to the car, rental provider and insurer.
Confirm insurance cover, excess, exclusions, deposit, payment-card conditions, mileage allowance and additional-mile charges. Check fuel or charging requirements, permitted territories and uses, incident-reporting procedures and late-return conditions. The handover record should reflect the car’s condition before departure.
Responsible use and intellectual property
Use these pages lawfully and without interfering with their operation or the rights of others. Do not attempt unauthorised access, introduce harmful material or misrepresent this publication as a booking confirmation or proof of permission to drive.
Publication text and design may be protected by intellectual-property rights. You may read and make a personal reference copy for lawful use. Starr Luxury Cars and vehicle brand names belong to their respective owners; their use identifies the services or products discussed.
Responsibility and interruptions
We take reasonable care in presenting the feature, but it is not a substitute for the current agreement supplied for a particular rental. We are responsible for our own publication activities; separate providers are responsible for the services and commitments they make.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Events outside reasonable control may interrupt access, but do not remove obligations or rights that applicable law preserves.
Law, concerns and changes
These publication terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply to you. Nothing here prevents a consumer from exercising a right to bring proceedings in a court available under applicable law.
Send publication-related concerns to [email protected], explaining the page and issue. We may update these terms when the publication or relevant rules change. The update date below identifies this version; a provider’s separate rental terms remain the source for a particular hire.
